Contact UsSterling Credit Management is the Credit Control Services arm of Sterling Outsourcing.
Sterling Credit Management was established in 2006 to provide the benefits of high quality, cost effective credit control services primarily to the UK and US markets. With 60 staff all based in our Krakow office, we have the scale to provide high-quality, reliable service, whilst retaining the personal touch and the ability to respond quickly to client needs.
Our credit management clients range in size from SME’s with £1/2m turnover up to $2.5bn t/o corporates. Whilst we are particularly successful within the professional services market we cover a wide variety of markets from fashion design and wholesale to construction, IT, recruitment, PR, architecture, accounting and legal. In all of these industries we have effectively become our client’s credit control function, responsible for collection of their ledger on an ongoing basis and in many cases their entire order to cash process.
We work as an extension of each client’s business, working entirely under the client brand, usually on the client’s accounts system (and CRM etc if appropriate), dovetailing into their process and dealing directly with internal stakeholders. Our service has the benefits of an outsourced service whilst appearing to be an internal function.
Our experienced collection staff work closely with your customers to get your invoices paid quickly whilst protecting and improving your customer relations. The key to successful credit management is good communication with customers and stakeholders. Our service is focussed as far as possible on communication by phone, automating reminder emails as far as possible.
Whilst our clients put differing emphasis on objectives when outsourcing to us the majority wish to improve cash flow. Sterling have reduced debtor days by a minimum of 20% for all of our clients, with the average improvement being over 30%, and some clients seeing a 65% improvement.
Location:
Sterling’s secure service centre is based in the centre of Krakow, Poland. Our Krakow team is a 50:50 mix of English/Irish and Polish staff, with the latter all having fluent English, most with experience of working in the UK. Krakow is the largest finance and accounting outsourcing centre in Europe, with over 70,000 staff working in service centres for the likes of HSBC, Shell, BP, Heineken, Philip Morris, Accenture, Aon, PwC, IBM, Capita and Hitachi. This gives Sterling excellent access to well educated, highly trained and motivated staff more cost effectively than operating in the UK.
The reduced costs of doing business in Krakow means that Sterling are able to ‘do more for less’. We are also better able to retain the skilled staff required to provide stable, high quality service. Whereas in the UK and US credit management and accounts receivable roles are often seen a stepping-stone to something better, in Krakow the role is a highly respected profession in which staff can develop and progress. Over 90% of our staff are graduates, with 20% at MSc level.
Sterling’s managers and team leaders are members of the CICM, and our in house training is based on the Institute’s courses and principles. Sterling are an international member of the Credit Services Association, benefiting from the Association’s guidance and adhering to it’s code of practice.
